STUDENT TRANSFER AND WITHDRAWAL

TRANSFER

Any student transferring into West Baton Rouge Parish who will not be residing with their parent/parents shall be required to present a court order attesting legal custody of the student by the individual(s) requesting the transfer.  Said court order shall be submitted prior to the student becoming eligible to enroll in any school of the parish.

HARDSHIP TRANSFER

A parent or legal guardian of a child may request permission for the child to attend school out of zone.  Requests based on a clear case of hardship may be made as the need arises and will be considered for approval based on the merits of the individual case.  Transportation to an out-of-zone school for child care purposes shall be solely the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian.

WITHDRAWAL

Students shall be required to attend school in accordance with statutory provisions.  Students may be permitted to withdraw from school however, if approved by the Superintendent and Board.  Such withdrawal must be in accordance with such rules and regulations as may be prescribed by the Board and applicable state law.
