HOLIDAYS

The West Baton Rouge Parish School Board shall establish the holiday schedule for all personnel in addition to those included in the adoption of a school calendar.  Whenever a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the Board may declare that the holiday be observed on the preceding Friday or following Monday, respectively.

The Board has established the following holiday schedule for all personnel employed on a twelve (12) month basis:

July 4th

Labor Day

Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following

Christmas, New Year’s Day, and additional days to be determined

Martin Luther King Day

Mardi Gras Day and the Monday preceding

Easter and the Friday preceding and the Monday following

Memorial Day

General Election day shall be designated by the school system as a holiday every four (4) years for the presidential election.

The School Board may designate any other holidays that it may determine.
